This is a contradictory post, manly, ’cause I’m against IE and all his grandparents or children, and i will hate even more the grandchildren of this cursed browser. But, for those of u who still suffer of blindness, or those as me who are forced to use it at least to try your sites on it, to make sure they are working fine (which is hard and tedious to make it work accordingly), for those of you, here is 36 tools that will make better your usage or testing. Keep in mind that if u want a perfect experience while browsing a site, I recommend everyone switching to Firefox.

Look what it shows if you do a search with the keyword: internet explorer on www.urbandictionary.com. I had an awesome laugh.
- A simple Windows XP tool which allows the user to browse to Mozilla.com and download Firefox, a web browser.
As soon as I installed XP I opened Internet Explorer and grabbed the latest version of Firefox.

I used Internet Explorer to download Firefox. One of the only uses of this crappy browser.

Internet Explorer is a steaming mound of poo.
- A browser that while popular, has many security holes. It also has poor support of today’s standards, and has a dangerous feature called ActiveX that can be used to install programs harmful to computers.
Still using Internet Explorer? I suggest switching to a Mozilla-based browser, Opera, or another alternate browser.
- Microsoft’s attempt to dominate the Internet by integrating this poor excuse of a browser with every Windows OS, although this was deemed illegal, they made some bullshit up about it being a core part of Windows. So in the end, they integrated this POS into Windows.IE is buggy, has many security holes, is slow, supports ActiveX so websites can install their XXX dialers on our systems, and finally, it’s not standards compliant, so 80%+ web pages have sloppy HTML which doesn’t work with standards compliant browsers, only IE. How convenient.
Internet Explorer is the most COMMON browser, but NOT the most popular.

Firefox 3 Beta 4 has been released, and is now available for download. test
This is a list of CSS improvements for Firefox 3:
- The
display property’s inline-block and inline-table values are now implemented.
- The
font-size-adjust property now works on all platforms; previously it was only supported on Windows.
rgba() and hsla() support for color (bug 147017):default pseudo-class support (bug 302186)-moz-max-content, -moz-min-content, -moz-fit-content, and -moz-available values have been added to width, min-width, and max-width (bug 311415 and bug 402706)- HTML soft hyphens (
) are now supported.
- Pre-formatted tabs work much better in proportional fonts, following the CSS 2.1 spec.

ime-mode property is supported.
- The CSS

What can i say about the improved performace:
- Reliability. Firefox 3 now stores bookmarks, history, cookies, and preferences in a transactionally secure database format. This means your data is protected against loss even if your system crashes.
- Speed. Firefox 3 has gotten a performance boost by completely replacing the part of the software that handles drawing to your screen, as well as to how page layout work is handled.
- Memory use reduced. Firefox 3 is more memory efficient than ever, with over 300 memory “leak” bugs fixed and new features to help automatically locate and dispose of leaked memory blocks.
And so much more. I think that this time, Microsoft’s IE is going down. The numbers of Firefox download are increasing. Even my mom is using Firefox.
Is still a beta. but can’t wait till is ready, i’m already using it.

Here i bring you two tweak tools that will help us customize a little, that evil IE7.
One will allow us to remove the search bar from the upper right of the browser; two options either messing with the registry following the explanation on this link:

or downloading a simple application the guys from IntelliAdmin has created, on the download section of the previous link.
The second one will tweak IE7 in diferent ways, like showing or hiding different bars on the evil browser. Two ways again, messing with the registry following the instructions or installing a well created applications developed by the same guys here:

Some people have asked us: “What’s the point of this blog?” or “What are you trying to accomplish with it?” We don’t have a reals reason and apart from ridding the world from Internet Explorer, we don’t plan to accomplish anything with it. Truth be told, one day, after finalizing a website, and forgetting to test it on IE (we know, how dumb) we get a call from our client telling us: “What’s wrong with you guys? This website looks like shit” We quickly fired up firefox and saw our website looking perfect and working even better when it hit us, we forgot to test it on IE. At this point we opened IE7, Safari & Opera and found that website was working perfectly on them as well but we were not so lucky with IE7
Then, after hours beating our heads constantly trying to get all elements of a website to work correctly on IE7 and sacrificing some design and functionality, we call the client to let her know that everything should be fine now.
To our surprise we get a call back from her 30 minutes later asking us to please stop wasting her time and fix her website. We looked at each other wondering what was going on when suddenly, IE6. sure enough, the website look like hell on IE6.
Four hours later, including the time spent swearing at Bill Gates we had our own little “frankensteinian” website that worked well enough and looked ok enough in all browsers.
We called our client a third time and after hanging up we were all ready for some beers when suddenly, another call. This one wasn’t so bad but our client instructed us that there where still elements that look out of place. We open IE6 while still on the phone with her and saw that the website was looking correctly on our end. So after 15 minutes of going back and forth with settings and searching the internet, we had our client send us a screen print. To our surprise, for some strange and undocumented reason, the website was dropping some of the floated block elements making it look incorrect.
To be more precise, the same version of IE6, on two different computers, with the same operating system, monitor resolution, etc, were displaying a website on two different ways.
I hope this little story has helped you understand us a little bit better and now you can join us in our quest to make all web developers live easier.

Yes, there some other quirks to web development but as you can see, IE takes more than half of a web developers time, if you include the swearing against Bill Gates (look here for a quick solution). Shouldn’t we stand together and sue Microsoft for all the time and money it makes us waste? We should give it a thought.
